BirthtoberFest came up fast this year. Well, maybe it came at the same pace that it always does, we were just too busy to pay attention. So, when we realized it was here, it was like a visit from a great old friend we hadn’t seen in a while.

And why does it matter? It matters because we all matter. We just forget how much sometimes. It’s easy to do. Work, family, obligations…we push ourselves down the list. Yet, here we are. Back on top. And it feels pretty darn good.

And here’s where you can help others feel special. Any time someone tells you they were born in October (the 2nd most popular birth month) let them in on BirthtoberFest.

And when someone hears about BirthtoberFest and says they were born in a different month, let them know they can get in on this too. BritoberFest was meant to be inclusive. Ask them their birthday. Then, through the magic of math, let them know what they’re official Birthtober birthday is.

Example:
What’s a February 4th birthday in BirtoberFest days?
Oct 31 days + Nov 30 days + Dec 31 days + Jan 31 days + Feb 4 = October 127th

So happy BirthtoberFest 2019 one and all! Enjoy it with friends, family, a pet, your choice. But we hope you make the most of it all month long.

​Last week we had a BirthtoberFest party. So, lots of October birthdays and their significant others. And here’s what I loved about it. The spot light wasn’t on me. Now, that might sound odd since I’m one of the people who started this “Look-at-me’ holiday. But in truth, it’s more of a “Look–at-us” holiday.

Years ago I had a birthday party. Lots of people coming up and congratulating me. Honestly, it just felt odd. I hadn’t done anything except survive to the next birthday. I just didn’t love it. But I did love being around great friends and laughing. A BirthtoberFest party is truly the best of all worlds. All the fun, less of the spotlight.

My advice. Throw a B-Fest party or get ass invited to one. Too fun to pass on. Happy Fest.

BirthtoberFest is a month long celebration of all those skilled enough to be born in the great month of October. Let’s break that thought down.

Month Long – This isn’t about one special day. Yes, we fully expect you’ll do something extra, extra to mark the exact date of your birth. (Feel free to send a photo). But the holiday of BirthtoberfFest is a month long for two reasons. Reason one, it gives all those who care about you (no small number) a chance to truly honor you…multiple times. That simply can’t all happen in one day. Reason two, by being a month long, it binds all festians together with an unspoken bond. This is a special club. To be in it means to be part of something bigger then yourself. Something that makes you even more fun.

Celebration – You’re encouraged to celebrate with other of the October born and their people. It’s go big time.

Skilled - Now, some may say that you one has no choice over when they’re born. Science has proven that wrong. What science, you ask? Let’s not get bogged down with that just now. Just accept that these are people with skill and vision.

The Great Month of October – Obvious.

Maybe the true meaning of Birthtoberfest can best be summed up in this concise thought. - Lucky us.
